Hodgepodgeatorium - Perception

It’s the year 2007 yet some divides have yet to be bridged. There are clearly two segments of society that view certain situations and events differently. It’s frustrating. As a member of one the aforementioned segments I really try to see the other perspective yet I come up short nearly every time. But this is my attempt to see things from the other side.

So, ladies you’ve got to help me out.

First off is “ladies” acceptable? What are guys supposed to say when they are referring females? It may not be obvious, but I’m not talking about overtly derogatory terms. I’m not one to use the B-word and certainly wouldn’t think of using anything harsher.

Nope, I’m talking about terms like “chick” “broad.” Well not so much “broad”, but certainly “chick.” Is that offensive? Should I not be using that word in the company of females?

And when should I stop using “girl” as in “I was dating this one girl and…” I know that women are sensitive about age issues, but couldn’t using “girl” be considered me looking down on the female in question?

Of course when it’s only guys and we’re talking as guys do, are there any terms you’d really prefer that we not use, even out of your earshot?

Speaking of “between guys” we also tend to use various euphemisms for “the act of love.” This kind of I started down this train of thought in the first place. Y’see a few months back I was reading a certain blog that I frequent and the topic of euphemisms came up. As the topic progressed I got to thinking a) what women said amongst themselves behind closed doors about guys and b) what women would think if they knew that so and so had “_____ed” them.

So here we are.

Are any of the following offensive?

“She was a good lay.”

“I’d hit that.”

“She could catch one.”

“I’d like to hump her.”

“Oh, I destroyed her.”

“Consider her ruined.”

“I’d kill to poke that.”

“I’d give her a good plowing.”

“I would give anything to annihilate that.”

“Oh, we’re f*cking.”

“We shagged all day long.”

“I’m trying to nail her, tonight.”

“I’d like to know her, in the biblical sense.”

“We were doinking all over the place.”

“I’ve slept with her numerous times.”

“I wonder what it’d be like to hump that.”

For the sake of the lack of repetitiveness I varied the phrasing; but are any of the verbs in question more offensive than others? Are any completely unacceptable?

Oh wait, I just remembered; my audience is mostly male and those females who do read rarely participate in feedback. But if there were ever a topic that needed, nay, cried out for a female perspective this is it. I’m very anxious for a different viewpoint on this matter.

I eagerly await your replies.
